Just first make sure that the root hints are listed
in the snap-in, then then simply note and remove all
forwarder IPs. The system should then resolve
non-local zones recursively and exclusively via
the root hints.
It is a good idea to flush the cache and run a query to
test that everything is resolving normally after you
make this kind of change.
