Hello
Yesterday i bought a new DVD drive, it is MSI 16X, when i did the nero dirve
speed it gave only 17X on CDs it has to be 50X so I checked the DMA settings
on IDE settings, and the value for my new DVD was "multi-word dma 2) while
my CD wirter has the value "ultra DMA2" and it has given me excellent
resulats on nero drive speed test, is there anyway to change the value for
my new DVD???

DMA MW 2 stands for "Multiword DMA mode 2", DMA 2 means "Ultra DMA mode 2."
The DMA mode shown depends on the DMA mode supported by the drive.

You can change the modes in the BIOS,keep within its specs though...

Are you using a 40 or 80 wire IDE cable? If only 40 then UDMA2 is max
speed.
