DLL Problem

Not sure this is the right forum for my question, but here goes. Recently,
I've wanted to download some Christmas Themes for my desktop, no problem with
the download, but when I try to use them, get an error message that I'm
missing <rundll32.exe> and prepares a report to send to Micorsoft. The info
that is shown is App Version 5.1.2600.2180. I've previously been able to
download themes and run them, but guess the gremlins have been at work on my
DLLs. How do I fix this problem, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Wanda

First thing to do is to scan your computer for viruses and spyware. It will
take scans by several different spyware scanners to confirm that you have or
do not have spyware.

Hi Ted....Ran two spyware programs and my virus program, pick up three
spywares and deleted same. Downloaded the Theme again but still have the
same problem....the report that came up talked about running DLL as an App.
This is completely over my head, so do you or anyone have any other
suggestions???

Perhaps the theme you downloaded is what supplied the spyware? Desktop
themes downloaded from the Internet for "free" are frequently accompanied by
spyware.

This is what you need to do:

click on start then click on run then type msconfig
goto startup tab
then click on disable all button
click ok (this will ask you to restart your computer) click restart
when it comes back up on the desktop a message will pop up
"you have use the system configuration window.....
click on the box "don't show this message again"
this should solve the problem
if it does then you might want to go back to msconfig window
startup tab then find the anti virus program and enable it.
restart the system again //

this problem is due to a program that tries to find a file in the wndows sys
files and it could not find one.
