Distribution List not Updating

I am changing the email address of my contacts, but when I
go into my distribution lists, and click 'Update Now'
their email address is not changing.

If I double-click on the contacts name from the
disribution list it opens their contact folder and shows
their email as their old one. But, if I go into their name
from the main contacts listing page it shows their email
address as the new one.

This is weird. Any help would be appreciated.
 
Never have I seen the Update Now button work.
I don't even know why it's there.
One of many reasons few of us use DL's.
 
So how do you do mass mailings? I am totally dependent on
these types of lists. Do I need to be looking at other
software?

Most of us make use of Categories and/or separate Contact subfolders to
group contacts for sending to multiple recipients.
