Distribution List - how exclude a person temporarily?

This is an issue that comes up peridically. We have an all staff
distribution list and want to send out an email announcing a surprise
birthday party. We'd like not to send it to the birthday girl, whose name is
in the distribution. Anyone know a way of saying send it to the distribution
list except her this one time?

Not of earth shattering importance, but if someone's figured it out...

There should be a "+" to the left of your distribution list when you have it
in the "to" field of the e-mail. You can expand your distribution list by
clicking on this "+" and deleting the receipent from this e-mail message.

Not in my version, maybe because we're using Outlook XP and exchange 5.5.
Too bad, but good to know when we finally upgrade there might be a solution!
