Distribution List forwarding to others

I have sent a distribution list to several other people but when they press
save and close it either won't save at all or it will only save the title of
my distribution list. This is how we have always shared contacts and never
had a problem. Is there some other way we have to send distribution lists?

Thanks,

It would help if you specify some details;
Version of Outlook?
Steps to reproduce?

Similar problem using Outlook 2002 (origin) and 2002 or 2003 (receiving.
Sent personal DL as an attachment in an RTF format message. Opening the
attachment shows the DL in the correct Outlook contact format, identical to
viewing the original from the contacts folder - but how do you save this into
the contacts folder to create a DL for the recipient? 'Save Attachments' only
offers the option to save it as a .msg file in a directory on the PC, not
Outlook. Pressing 'save' just resaves the attachment in the open mail.

Thanks, Keith

Hopefully this is sufficient information to prevent a disdainful response.
Some of the responses I've seen on this subject leave one in no doubt of the
respondees' view of the author's mental faculties...

Save the attachment first as a msg-file and then drag & drop it into
Outlook.

That works - dragged and dropped into Contacts folder.
Copy and paste doesn't seem to work.
Even quicker - you can drag the attachement from the email and drop it in
the contacts folder without saving first.

Not exactly intuitive, and you can't find anything in Help to assist.
Thanks for the very swift help - I wouldn't have got there otherwise.

Standard method is to insert the DL as an Outlook Item in an RTF message.
Just open and save to put it into your default Contact Folder.

It's the last sentence that doesn't work. If you save, you just appear to
save the attachement back into the mail to which it is attached (exactly like
a Word attachment). I could not get it to save into the contacts folder.

Most likely you are not inserting it as an Outlook Item or your message
format isn't RTF.
