Something awful has happened. I just finished a massive spreadsheet down
to the last detail. Everything balanced out, it was perfect. I was
ready to print the final draft. I wanted to take out the grid lines
and the a-z and 123.. borders so I was looking at various commands on
the tool bar. I got to the "insert' heading and clicked on "worksheet"
to see what it was. Everything is now gone....... I am sick. Please
tell me how to get the spreadsheet back. I have tried to open the one I
want from the saved files but nothing but a blank worksheet comes up.
While looking thru the toolbars again, I found how to get the gridlines
out but this is 2 weeks of work gone. There are tears rolling down my
face. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Don't cry (or panic).
All you've done is insert another worksheet into your workbook.
Normally the sheets have tabs on the bottom of the screen, if yours
doesn't, then
"Tools->Options->View"
there will be an item titled "Sheet Tabs".
If it isn't selected then select it and <OK>.
You should now see the tabs on the bottom of the screen, select each one
until your sheet comes up.

HTH

You can still color me pink but here's another glitch. I guess while I
was trying to find the right command for the gridlines, I entered a
page break and now when it prints, there is half a page to each sheet.
Opps! Not what I wanted. How do I remove it when the undo button is not
active? And thank you very much for the above help. A ton was lifted
off me.

Select a cell below the break (shows as a dotted line) then click on
"Insert".
There should be a "Remove Page Break" item listed, click it.

If all else fails you may want to browse through the Help function. It
will, in this case, give you all the options on page breaks.

WooHoo! It worked. You're a genius! Decided to try a cell to the right
of the page break and presto....

Now for that pesky blank page that open up. Grrr ;)

Off the top of my head;
That is not a page break, it *sounds* like a margin.
It means all your cells won't print on one sheet.
What have you got your margins set to?
Are you printing in "Portrait" or "Landscape" mode?

We're getting out of sync here:-)
Glad you fixed it - so ignore my post about margins etc.

To get rid of the pesky blank page (I'm assuming it's the page you added
in error);
Select the blank sheet (click on the tab) and, with your mouse on the
tab, right click.
This should bring you a menu. Click "Delete".
This will bring a warning of impending doom, be brave, say OK.

When you're investing a lot of time and energy in these things you may
want to develop the habit of saving the file frequently.

Good luck!

I am also having some issues with my excel sheet disappearing. I hav
extensive experience in other excel versions and just installed the 0
version. When I open the sheet it comes up blank, but the cell bo
shows values. I can actually move around the sreadsheet using arro
keys and see defferent cells, but the overall shhet is greyed out.
have found if I open another spreadsheet that the greyed out one wil
show up. Is my spreadsheet corrupt or is there a way to fix the issue
The sheet that disappears has a lot of linking formulas and has bee
copied over daily about 600 times. HELP

I'd check to see if the worksheet were just off the visible screen.

Window|arrange|tiled
(and resize later)

Sometimes sharing workbooks with laptop users and desktop users can cause
havoc--because of the different display settings (windows not excel).

Dave,
I went to window/arrange/tiled and noticed my 'windows of activ
workbook' was not checked. once i checked that it stopped the problem
or at least it seems to have stopped.
Thanks! Cham
