Does anyone know an easy way to display the current IP
address associated with the PC connection to the internet
using Windows XP ?

In Windows 2000 I used the command 'run winipcfg' which
gave me the info easily but this seems to have been
withdrawn in XP.

I know you can use the system tool msconfig but that is
very long winded so thought there must be an easier way ?
Hope someone can drop me an email about it. Thanks

WNTIPCFG.EXE is the file from Windows NT that works. it should be on the
Microsoft downloads site.

yes sir,
there is an easy way to find out your ip address..on the
bottom left you will see 2 computer`s blinking which means
you are connected to the network...double click on that.
you will see 2 tabs : general and support...click on
support and there u go....it will tell you your ip
address...your gateway ip address ...
i think that`s the shortest way if you are not planning to
use your keyboard :)

i hope i was of some help to you

Thanks for your tips guys. Think I've just found out a
better way of doing this myself.

By going to My Network Places and then using View Network
Connections double clicking on the connection shows the
Connection Status and in the Support tab it has the IP
address. To make it easier I've now setup a shortcut on
the desktop to go straight to the status display. Cheers !
