Displaying both the master and its details as a grid

Hi,

My (main)form has a subform that contains the details of the mainform. The
default view of the mainform is 'single form', the default view of the
subform containing the details is 'Datasheet' - Datasheet displays the data
of the associated table as a grid.

I want both the mainform (the master) and the subform to be displayed as
grid. But after changing the default view of the mainform to 'datasheet',
the subform disappears completely - probably because it is "part of" the
mainform?
Isn't there a way to display both the mainform and the subform as a grid? I
would suprised if this is impossible!

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance!

Please don't "multipost".

Posting the same question repeatedly in multiple newsgroups wastes the
volunteers' time, since we cannot tell if the question has been
answered in another group. If you must post in more than one group
(it's rarely necessary, most of us cover several groups) please
crosspost rather than multipost - that is, put all of the desired
group names in the Newsgroups line. This will post to all the groups
(faster than copying the message to each one and posting separately)
and any answer in one group will be seen in all.

I would consider displaying a whole new form (perhaps as sub form).

You can' have a sub-form in a sub-form when it is continues. The best
approach is side by side.

You can see a screen shot of this concept here:

In the above, if you double click on any detail line (either side), I launch
a form with the ONE record displayed...
