There are two instances wherein I cannot access certain portions of my
display:

1) In my mail program - when I display the list of my many mailboxes
(say, to transfer an email from inbox to some other mailbox).
2) In Start>Programs - some of the programs in the list (at the bottom
of each column).

IOW, the display goes off the bottom, and I cannot scroll down to
anything in that area.

How can I deal with that?

Thanks

Right-click the subject line of the email, click "Move to Folder..".

The best I can suggest: Move Start Menu items to similar folders, All
games in a Games folder, Utilities in a Utilities folder, etc. That
will make the list shorter and all will fit the screen.

Adjust the monitor settings so the screen actually shows the bottom edge
of the desktop.

Nope - the settings show no improvement in that area. The screen
shows all of the image. I checked.

R-click Start, then Properties, Start Menu, Customize, scroll to "Scroll

Well I guess I can do that - but -

I have about 100 mailboxes that end up creating three columns of
mailbox names, two columns of which lose a few names at the bottom.
So I would have to group mailboxes as you suggest enough to leave me
with just one column short enough so as to not lose name(s) at the
bottom. That would mean moving some 70 or so mailbox names manually -
not a simple task. But then that raises the question - does this mean
that only one column of mailbox names can be displayed - and a short
column at that? Wow!

Thanks for your interest -

Sounds to me like you are really going beyond the design intentions of
this "e-mail" program.

R-click Start, then Properties, Start Menu, Customize, scroll to "Scroll
Programs" and tick mark it.

That worked for the Start>Programs list - thanks. The similar sit in
the email program is still there and may be unchangeable.

Thanks
