Display Quality - Fuzzy images in IE6

I get horrible image quality in IE6 - I have a dell lat d600
Win XP pro sp2
Brand new fresh install this week

Problem is only in internet explorer

All images especially my company's website (www.solutions4jde.com) is nearly
unviewable.

tried all options under tools options -adv

I read through many threads and tried the registry hack with UseHR = 1 =0 in
hex -in decimal - rebooting each time - I tried unloading my entire PCI
bus in device mgr - and reloading all computer hardware - I removed ie 6
and renamed the program files\internet explorer directory and reinstalled ie6
- same problem - booted another laptop with same installs (that works fine by
the way) - exported entire HKEY_Current_User\software\microsoft\Internet
Explorer and then imported into my registry - no avail -
Dell told me to reload windows from scratch and start again - NO WAY - takes
12hours to do so. PLEASE HELP!!!

Red X Instead of Images -

Can not see or save Images/Pictures

Fuzzy Text and fuzzy web graphics

Change the DPI setting from Large to Normal and see if that helps.

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy
images/distorted images

If you have Zone Alarm, Uncheck "remove private headers" for all
sites.

To restore the default file association, go to

Download, unzip and merge the REG file, "JPE/JPG/JPEG Association Fix"
Some image/graphics programs will change file associations.

Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

You might also try this fix. Although it worked for a few others, it may not
work for you, but, it may be worth a try. But, be sure to back up your
Registry before you try this:

Open Regedit
Open \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\PROTOCOLS\Name-Space Handler\

Delete the keys "http", "https", and "ftp"
Leave the 'mk' key

The mk key is created by Windows and the others may be created by some other
dnld or type manager.

Right click on the graphic you see and a pop up menu should appear. Select
"Show Picture" option.

Then, go to Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Show Pictures - check option if

Can't View Some Graphics on IE/AOL

If you have Norton Personal Firewall or some other ad-blocking software or
popup stoppers installed, try disabling this type of software temporarily to
see whether this could be the problem. Many of these programs block
Javascript, which is often used to pop up login windows and create rollover
graphics. Norton Security, for example, is known to block any image that
originates from another server (advertisement images usually do), and I'm
guessing it also blocks at least some Javascript.

Set the following -

Under Security
Java Medium
Display mixed content-prompt is checked

Under Scripting
Scripting of Java applets
Is set to Enable

Privacy settings are medium

Check if your encoding setting in IE. To do this, click on View / Encoding,
and make sure Western European is selected.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hi Ralph :-)

In addition to what Frank's suggestion, you might also try updating your
Video driver: Your driver may be located in a different area for XP, but,
you can go to the Mfg. and get the latest driver update for your Video.

Update Video Driver

Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.
Click on Device Manager
Find Display Monitor and click on the + next to it
Double click on the file listed

Here you will find the information on your video driver. Then go to the
website for mfg. of the video driver and look for the update to
download and install. There may also be a Update Driver button on the
dialog box you can use to go direct to the update download site.

also........

Try reducing hardware acceleration at control panel, display, settings,
advanced, performance.

Well, That worked - no thanks to Dell Technical support -
ATI - had me go back to Dell - Dell support website had a driver dated jan
2003 as the latest for the radeon 9000 and latituded 600 - The one on my
system driver disk was July 2003 Not realizing the date I downloaded and
installed the old driver - the issue was still valid - I went to ATI and the
link on their site back to Dell for the latest driver - this one was dated
DEC 2004 - I downloaded and installed the DEC 2004 driver for Radeon 9000
mobility (laptop) from Dell's site and thankfully the issue went away!!
Thank you to everyone - I truly appreciate it.
