Two days ago, I logged into my computer as usual and all t
he settings were skewed! They were huge!! LOL Not good.
I went to Display Properties and was intending to fix
settings. No dice!! Screen resolution is unchangeable.
Slider will NOT move. Neither will Color Quality.
They are currently set at 1024 by 768 pixels; and Color
Quality is 32 bit and will NOT change either.
I have also tried from the Compatibility tab. I have no
games running on this blasted computer either. Right now
the thing is useable, and that's stretching it. The colors
are still all weird. Please, someone help me with this
thing. I have had XP Home for 6 weeks now. had 98 before.
Believe me when I say, I am almost ready to unplug this XP
and re-connect my old 98.

Correction. Color Properties are set at 8 not 32. My
mistake.
Sounds like something has happened to your video card and/or its
drivers. Start by reinstalling the drivers. If that doesn't work, then
try with a different video card.

Try Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore
to restore to a restore point made before the trouble arose

You may need to do it by booting to Safe mode, hitting F8 as BIOS info
goes to black to get the menu, and use the 'Administrator' account -
that will offer the Restore immediately, before loading the desktop

The exact same thing happened to me and re-installing the video card
drivers fixed it.
