display problem....

I have a simple formula =CONCATENATE(A55,C55) However, once I press
enter the formula doesn't perform what I want it to do... it just displays
=CONCATENATE(A55,C55) and I don't know how to fix this or why it started?

nothing looks wrong as you have posted but try this.....
it's simplier......
=A55 & C55
