Display email address instead in Contact

Then it also depends on your mail support mode. In Corp/Workgroup you can
access the Display Name field by double clicking the email field in the
Contact Record. In Internet Mail Only mode, you have no access to the
Display Name.

How do I ensure that the Internet Email Address format is shown rather than the Contact Display name? In some cases if i change the email address format Outlook changes it back to the display name upon saving.

I have Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.3821)
All of my references to the email field are in the CONTACTS folder in the level of Outlook mentioned above.
I would like to have the email field show the internet email address format, NOT the display name.
I have found that if I change the email address to something fictitious, save it, change it a second time to the correct email address, the email address will remain and not automatically be replaced by the display name in the contacts folder. Erasing the email address, saving the contact, and re-entering the address still causes Outlook to revert to the display name in the email field.
Your abrupt response makes me think that you do not really want to help me.

Not true. My "abrupt" response simply reflects the fact that you did not
provide enough information to permit an answer and that this thread already
told you the information that would be needed. I am a volunteer who posts
with what limited free time I have so my posts are quick and to the point.
If you want an answer on the first try, be sure to include the information
needed. Leaving out your Outlook version is a sure way to thwart an accurate
answer.

Unfortunately, that is still the case. Outlook 2000 existed in two separate
mail support modes, each of which behaves entirely differently in this
regard. You'll need to provide your mail support mode as well (Line 2 of
Help | About, if you don't know which mode you are using).

Hang in there. We'll get this solved.... eventually. The more information
you give us, the more we can give back.
