Display - background problems

I am trying to change the wallpaper on an XP - SP2 machine. Used to work
fine until a younger family member downloaded who knows what. After
cleaning viruses, etc. my display module in control panel only shows tabs
for Settings and Screen saver. I know there should be a Desktop tab to
change the wallpaper but its gone.
Any ideas?

Try running the edit on Kelly's site, line 285, "Restore All Display
Tabs" at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
