i did something incredibly stupid, using the DISKPART command to CLEAN a drive, i failed to notice that diskpart was actually logged-on to the *wrong* volume at the time, so i inadvertently wiped-out the partition table (i'm assuming) on a drive that was not the intended target.

now, before i panic, i would like to hear from those who have used the DISPART command and what they would recommend for recovering the partition information, ie, reconstruct the partition table... it shouldn't be that difficult, but i haven't faced this situation before, as i'm usually extremely careful. apparently my luck just ran out today though.

please advise, asap... thanks

Hi, Francis.

See my message in response to your excessively cross-posted message in the
Win2K newsgroups. Now I see this message excessively cross-posted to WinXP
NGs. Altogether, you must have posted to a dozen groups, including several
that clearly are inappropriate! :>( (The Help & Support NG is for those
who WRITE Help files; what does your problem have to do with security
administration?)

And, even with all that, you haven't bothered to tell us whether you are
using Win2K or WinXP - or some other version.

i will look and followup there

perhaps i was a tad aggressive with Post button, but that's why it was cross-posted, so people could easily avoid re-reading the article in another group, assuming their newsreaders are configured properly, ie, a cross-posted article will be flagged as read in all groups that it's been cross-posted to.

WinXP, i used the DISKPART shell (interpreter) from the Command Console (not recovery console)
