I'm trying to reduce my OS size. So, I'm minlogin and I
took out a bunch of other stuff. The OS comes up fine in
Command Line shell. However, diskpart doesn't seem to work
anymore. Every time I type it in I get this error,

"The disk management services could not complete the
operation."

Any ideas?

It is working perfectly on my minlogon, so this is not a problem. You have
probably removed too many things.

Resolve manually: "Disk Management Command Line Utility" and "Disk
Management Services"

I don't know if this is required, but I have it in my build.
Disk Management Basic Volume Runtime
Disk Management Dynamic Volume Runtime

Whatshell are you using?

I do have all those components you mentioned included. I
tried incremental builds from what didn't work to what did
work. Once I switched to windows login, explorer shell it
started working.

I'm still troubleshooting it just takes long to test and
rebuild, test and rebuild.

Custom shell, our application is the shell.
But I can access command prompt.

What is relation between explorer shell and diskpart? I thought that
diskpart is not working.

The relationship is, once I added explorer shell and
windows login diskpart starting working again. The
explorer shell requires windows login otherwise I would
have tried with minlogin.

I'm currently trying command shell with windows login.
We'll see how it goes.

jfradley,

Do you have "PnP (User Mode)" and "Primitive: Clusapi" components in your
image?

I had Primitive: Clusapi but not Pnp (User Mode). I also
added Class Installer - Stream because it was giving me a
FBA , not able to find streamci.dll.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying it now.

I added PnP (User Mode) and Class Installer - Stream and
now diskpart works. Thanks for the help.

For some reason auto-reolve didn't include all the needed
components when I was using minlogin w/ command line
shell. Target Designer included all the right compents if
I used Minlogin and Taskmanager shell, strange. Thanks
again.
