I've just noticed that Event Viewer reports lots of entries like this:

DCOM error. The Diskeeper Module DKService.exe has reported the error
""(0xc0000005) while calling SetData on clsid
{00000001-0000-0000-152C-420001000000}

DCOM error. The Diskeeper Module DKService.exe has reported the error
""(0xc0000005) while calling SetData on clsid
{00000001-0000-0000-1301-000000000000}

etc

They are meaningless to me, but worrying, so can anyone advise what
they imply please?

FWIW, I don't *have* a WinXP Service called DCOM. I am using SP1, and
believe SP2 has a DCOM service. (I made a brief and unsuccessful
attempt to install SP2 a year ago.)

I'm using DiskKeeper v 7.0

You might try reinstalling the app or look for something here. Generally
0xc5 is access denied.
