I am using both the FATand NTFS file system components. Is there a registry setting that I can use to disable disk write caching

Thanks
Tom

Tom,

I don't know how to do that through registry but here is a tool from MS that may help you to enable/disable the write cache:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811392.

Also, you may monitor what the tool or "Disk Manager-->Disk drive-->Properties-->Write Cache Enabled check box" does using Regmon to
catch the registry.

Btw, the hardware caching option is independent of the operating system NTFS file cache that could also be in use if the drive
contains an NTFS partition.
