how do you get Windows Xp to recognize a new disk drive? I just physically
installed a new dvd-rom in my comp, yet it does not show up in my computer or
under "add/remove harware"....
 
Also check the jumper on the DVD-R, if you have only one DVD-R, then set the
jumper according to the manufactures recommendations (usually a Master). If
you already have a DVD or CDR-RW and this is your second drive the jumper
should be set to Slave.
