After a clean install of XP (over 2K) and remembering to use the FAST, the install looked good, said it was good, but I didn't check too far ... after registering, I attempted to get to the FAST files but message said the directory did not contain the proper files ... went to explorer to see disk contents, get loud bang and an error box "C:\drive is not Accessable. Access denied" ... same message for both hard drives (C and D) ... I can do almost all functions I've tried (set up new user, etc.) ... can map network drives ... right clicking a drive, the menu does not show a Sharing option, but properties brings up the usual menu and shows the disk (both disks) are of 0 size and 0 bytes free ... Hardware manager shows drives are 'working properly' ... and, I can access the Internet just fine (as per this note). What did I forget
Note, in Event Viewer/Applications I get following error msg from ESENT: services (600) An attempt to determine the minimum I/O block size for the volumen "C:\" containing "C\Windows\Security\Database\secedit.sdb" failed with system error 5 (0x0000005): "Access is denied" The operation will fail with error 1032 (0xfffffbf8
Maybe that should tell me about the inability to access c:, but I don't get it.
