Disk Defragmentor

I am trying to use the disk defragnentor (which incidentaly I have used
before)
However when I try to use it now I am getting the message (Disk defragmentor
has detected that CHKDSK is scheduled to run on volume (C:).

When I check the scheduled tasks there is no sign of it.

Please can you help.

Reboot the PC. That should allow the scheduled chkdsk to run and you can
then defrag.

I did try that, but I am still having the same problem
