Disk Defragmenter stopped working

I was deframenting my hard drive and also doing other
stuff like downloading. When I checked back on the
defragmenter it gave me an error msg, i forgot what i
was. when I tried to run it again, a msg 'snap-in
creation failed'. I tried registering the .dll files.
Thought it worked but no...(the program opens but won't do
anything when buttons are pressed). Need help getting my
defragmenter back. Tried to download diskeeper
defragmenter but that don't work either. I think it's
something to do with MMC or something. I'm just an
amateur. Thanks in advance.

Have you got at least 15% free space on your hard disk/partition - defrag needs that amount to work.

yes i do. Actually i fixed the problem. I run
sfc /scannow. That seemed to fix the problem.
