Disk Compression in Recommended Install of XP? Where is it?

I performed a Microsoft recommended install of XP Pro over
98 on my 1999 Sony Viao laptop. 98 used to offer disk
compression via the Properties sheet. Apparently, XP Pro no
longer offers this feature. I suspect MS left out disk
compression from the XP recommended install. If true, is
the disk compression executable inside one of the XP
Professional CUSTOM INSTALL folders? if yes, which folder
do I check for custom install. If no, is there a SPECIFIC
ONLINE URL where I can obtain the XP disk compression
executable?

Question two, if I use XP Pro disk compression on my C:
drive, where Windows XP Pro is installed, will it effect
the performance of Windows XP?

Thank you.

Disk compression is only available if your hard drive is
formatted NTFS.

"You may notice a decrease in performance when working with
NTFS-compressed files. When you open a compressed file,
Windows automatically decompresses it for you, and when you
close the file, Windows compresses it again. This process may
decrease your computers performance".
