Disk Cleanup

I went to the disk cleanup (My Computer, C:, right click,
properties, Disk Cleanup), and I get the small box saying
"this may take a few minutes," "Compressing files," etc.,
and it seems like it's frozen. I hadn't used it in a
while, and I remember it getting to the actual cleanup
window pretty quickly, but now I leave it and it never gets
to that window. It just stays on that small, first box.
Is there any way to find out what's wrong? Could my
anti-virus/anti-spyware programs have anything to do with it?

Thanks for any advice! :)

I have had the same trouble before and was told to go to
http:www.kellys-korner.com. On the side menue look for xp
tweaks. Go down to line 48 and on the right side is a
file to download. A small file but download to desktop.
Then open it and let it run. This will uncommpress your
files so you can get past the scanning compressed files.
It worked for me wonders. Then just deleate the file on
your desktop when finished. Hope this works for you.
