Disk Cleanup

My system tool Disk Cleanup will not work. I have had this problem before on my home comperter. I was not able to get this program to work at home until I was forced to reinstall Windoows xp. I am using Windows xp at work now. Are there any tricks to get this program to work again? The task manager indicates that my CPU Usage is maxed out while this program is tring to process
Any ideas
