When i am ONLINE and i create a mail , then hit send ( or send/receive ) it
Disconnects me , then prompts me to Connect all over again , then sends the
mail. I've been to the Properties tab and checked / unchecked the obvious
tabs , but it doesn't help. ???

In Windows Mail, go to Tools, Options, Connection, and make sure
"Hang up after sending and receiving" is unchecked.
Also, go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties,
Connection tab, and make sure the settings there are grayed out,
indicating that IE's settings will be used.

When you open Internet Explorer, does it try to dial? If so, go to either
Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options or Control Panel/Internet Options.
Click on the Connections tab. Make sure "Never dial a connection" is
ticked. In fact, all the dial-up settings should be grayed out, indicating
that Vista recognizes the presence of an Internet connection via the LAN.

Tools | Accounts
Select the account, click Properties and click the Connection tab.
Uncheck the box to "Always connect to this account using:".
Do this for every account.

Still not working : Unchecked "Hang up after sending and receiving". ( Note :
it hangs up BEFORE it sends/receives , not after ) ; Checked "Never dial a
connection." ; Then went to Windows Mail , Tools , Accounts , selected the
account , Properties , Connection tab - the settings are NOT grayed out.
Under mail account it says Mail.surfglobal.net , under user info it has my
name and email addy and the box at the bottom that says "Include this account
when receiving mail and synchronizing" is Checked. I tried to uncheck that
to c if it would then gray everything out but when i click on it the program
stops working telling me it is not responding. Should i remove
Mail.surfglobal.net from the Mail account? ( if it lets me) Or what other way
can i get it all to be grayed out?

Either that mail account is corrupted, or else the corruption extends
to other parts of Windows Mail.

Delete the surfglobal.net account, restart Windows Mail, then
re-create that account. If it still does not work correctly, your
best option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

Deleted , restarted and re-created and IT WORKS! My ISP and local Computer
people have not been able to solve this for 4 months! Thank-you so much.

After recently downloading new updates. Now I disconnect sending e-mail,even
looking or moving messages into folders. I still have my old http from
hotmail which seems stable, for now. They said I'm supposed to update my
2007 beta to the new 2008. Why don't I get a simple update? I don't see
one. Do I really have to re-intialize my e-mail???? Sincerely, Zig
