Yes I tried removing Web Accelerator and had no effect. However, yesturday
I loged on with a different connection & isp (Netzero) and had no trouble.
I did try to delete my defult connection, but then dicided not to and ran
system restore. Then today I logged on with my defult connection (the isp
provided by my school) and now the problem seems to be gone.

necessary) - does your problem go away?

Recently I downloaded Google web accelerator. Since then, my dial-up
modem
keeps disconecting. I tried changing the max. port speed and increased
the
"Cancel the call if not connected" value.
