Disc check runs at startup and takes 1.5 hours everytime

HI this just started a few days ago. When I turn on the
computer, it says disc needs to be checked for
consistency. Which takes about an hour and a half. Then
it says windows has checked file system and found no
problems. about the last thing it says is some (FAT)
unwriteable.

Is there something I can do for this?? Please help!!

Have you tried to call up MS disk check and look to see
if the box by the "Run disk Check at startup" is checked.
If so remove the check mark. Sometimes for reason unknow
to me this box gets turned on.
