Disappearing Text

When I save a message in the Drafts folder, then go back to it and send it,
the Subject line remains intact, but the message text is missing (in both the
Sent Item and recipient's copy). This happens whether the message was in HTML
or plain text.
I am using Outlook 2003 SP2.
Saving a Draft is pretty basic. Losing the text is a major problem.
Any suggestions?

Do you have the same results when using Outlook in Safe Mode?

Saving and sending in Safe Mode works; no missing text.
Saving in Safe Mode and sending in Normal Mode makes the text disappear.
Interestingly, if I start the message body with a carriage return, the text
remains intact in any mode!

What add-ins do you have installed? Disable them and try again. Also make
sure you don't let your anti-virus scanner or any other security suite
integrate with Outlook. These are quite redundant with themself and default
Outlook security settings and are known to only cause issues like these.

Local anti-virus doesn't hook into e-mail. That's done at the server.
I disabled a handful of add-ins (Redemption Manager, plus a couple that tie
into our document management system), and lo and behold, it worked. I then
reactivated them one by one, testing each time. I was able to reproduce the
problem with one add-in. However, when I removed and reactivated that one,
the problem didn't return.
Mysterious!
