disappearing taskbar

My taskbar has disappeared from the desktop. In the past, I had been able to
get it back by doing a system restore. This no longer works. Suggestions
appreciated.

Assuming your taskbar was at the bottom of the screen, move the mouse
cursor to the bottom of the screen. The cursor should turn into a
double-headed arrow. Drag the arrow upward.
