disappearing emails

I am not sure what is going on. The last few days I have noticed that my
emails are disappearing as soon as they hit the in box. I have show all
messages displayed and when something questionable comes in I am asked about
phishing. Can anyone help me to understand what in the world is happening?
 
I am also having this problem. Mails are disappearing from the inbox as soon
as they are marked read and you move the highlight away. They are not being
moved, they vanish completely. The only mails left in my inbox are the
unread ones. This started happening today. I can see no setting to allow
this to happen.

Also, windows mail is sending and receiving automatically even thought I
have that setting turned off.

This is a very serious problem. I am stopping using windows mail immediately.
 
Your Inbox View is probably set to "Hide Read Messages"

click on View - Current View - Show All Messages

each folder can have a different view.....

Thanks so much, I was having this problem also. I now know how to fix it.
I don't know how it got changed in the first place though.
