Disappearing Copied/Pasted Photos

I am writing a journal using Word, and toggling back & forth from the Web in order to insert photos. All was well until today, when I find that some extra photos have shown up on the page, and I would like to delete them. The problem is, they show up in "print preview" only. They also there when I print the page.

However, when I go back to try to delete the extraneous photos from the page, they are NOT there!

This is a vexing problem. Can anybody help?

newsgroups; this newsgroup is for Microsoft Access.
