I am the sole user of my computer and I find it silly to have to always go through the Welcome Screen and would like to disable it long term. I have dispensed with the password for both the Welcome Screen and the Classic Log on screen. I have heard that there is something that I can do in the registry but the only thing I can find so far is for XP Pro.

Halo there, Bee, let's have a Bee to Bee tête-à-tête.

Are you saying you want to dispense with the Welcome screen altogether, i.e.
no Welcome screen on bootup? What is that you have heard of something you
can do in XP Pro? What is that 'something'? This should clarify what
exactly you want to do, I think.

Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > "Change the way users log on and
off" > uncheck "Use the Welcome Screen".
