Hi,
I have a need to disable the space bar key on certain slides, so that if
the user hits the space bar key it does nothing instead of advancing to the
next slide. Is there a way to intercept the key press and just not process
it? I am using Power Point XP. Thank you for any help in advance.

If you set your Slide Show > Set Up Show to Kiosk mode, the only key that will
work is the Escape key. However, you'll need to supply all of the navigation,
requiring the user to click on provided link in order to advance the show.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know of a way to write a macro that will
just intercept the space bar key press? I can use kiosk mode if I have too,
it is just not ideal. Thanks again.

Perhaps Chirag's shortcut manager would do the job for you:

Keep in mind, though, that if you intend to use the viewer rather than a full copy
of PPT to present this, any solution that uses macros is out.
