Disabling ICS on Win XP

I accidentally ran the Networking Wizard in WinXP &
apparently turned on the ICS...

I currently use a router to connect all my machines to my
internet connection, so I do not want ICS on. It's now
causing problems with my other machines connecting to the
network -- they cannot connect unless this computer is
turned on! :(

Can someone help me to turn off / disable ICS on Win XP
host machine?

Thanks!

Two possible fixes:

1. Run the Networking Wizard again and tell it that the computer
connects to the Internet through a residential gateway (router).

2. If ICS is enabled, one of the connections will show "Shared" in its
description when you click View | Details in the Network Connections
folder. In that case, right click that connection, click Properties |
Advanced, and un-check the Internet Connection Sharing box.

I went to uncheck the ICF, but it was already unchecked.
The problem is with ICS... I'm having serious problems
with connecting at all now to the internet with this
machine (although the others seem ok)...

I tried this, and none of my connections show "Shared" or
have the ICS checkbox on the Advanced tab as you mention.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Did you try my first suggestion?

If none of the connections show "Shared", what tells you that
something turned on ICS?

The ICS option only appears in the Advanced tab when all of these are
true:

1. There are at least two enabled, connected network connections: one
for the Internet, and one or more for the LAN.

2. The Internet Connection Firewall is disabled on the LAN
connection(s).

3. The Internet connection isn't bridged.

I tried your first suggestion (re-running the wizard),
however I now cannot connect to the internet at all with
that machine. When I had run it the first time, it told
me it was going to turn on ICS, even though I told it I
was using a router.

I tried restoring my computer back to the day before I ran
the wizard the first time, but I still cannot get any
internet connection on that machine (however, all my other
machines are now ok).

Thanks.
