I've recently purchased Norton Internet Security 2005; in the installation
notes im advised to disable the firewall by the following method:

Network and Internet connections>Network Connections>active icon> right
clicking on 'properties'and on the advanced tab uncheck 'protect my computer
and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the
internet'.

Im running AOL v9 on Windows XP Home edition and the active icon tells me
that my PC is firewalled. Yet when I right clicked on the active icon (AOL
connection icon) I was unable to open properties to turn the firewall off.
However When im using AOL v9 and I check my security settings im told that
the firewall IS off. What do I do? Am I firewalled?, windows security panel
informs me that the firewall is turned on.

anyone got any idea if i am firewalled?

The instructions on how to turn the Windows Firewall off were written BEFORE
Windows XP SP 2 was released. All you have to do to turn the Windows
Firewall on or off is open the Security Center icon in Control Panel and
look at the Firewall settings.

Thankyou.
