Hi!

I want to disable the support for "file sharing" (shared files and folders)
in my image. when i delete the "file sharing" component, the dependency
check comes up with multiple unresolved dependencies...

-server printing
-computer browser service
-dos windows on windows support
- ...

i want my image to be able to connect to shared folders and printers. but
NOT TO BE able to share folders and printers by itself.

Is there a solution?

Shall i ignore the dependencies???

Thanks!

Stefan,

Although I haven't tried this myself yet, try to remove "shrpubw.exe" file (%systemroot%\system32 dir) from your runtime image. The
file is brought by "Administration Support Tools - Hotfix Q824704" component. Then re-deploy the image, run FBA and see if the "file
sharing" gets broken. Other functionality may still work as expected.

I just tested leaving the component "file sharing" out of the image. Seem
that by making this, on
can only see the computers of the own workgroup. The other computers don'
see you :)

Connecting to shares in the own workgroup works. Since the others don't se
you, you can'
share. Server-printing works too. Dirty solution, which comes up wit
unresolved dependencie
but it works..

Thanks
Stev

BTW: Why isn't it possible to answer to newsgroups per OutlookExpress, when creating a NEW Post is possible??
