Disabling Ctrl+D When Composing Messages

I posted about this issue before
(http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...bK3BNhrDHA.4080%40tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl&rnum=2)
and at the time, didn't follow it up.

Today, after I yet again managed to delete a lengthy mail I was
composing just because by my finger slipped a few millimeters and
I hit Ctrl+D (delete) rather than Ctrl+S (save), I'm asking again
how do I get rid of this dumb shortcut.

Trying to be more careful is _not_ an option when I am trying to
rapidly respond to up to a hundred emails a day. I have to say
this is the most stupid shortcut ever. Why would anyone want to
delete a message (without any verification) in the middle of
composing it?

Anyway, apart from levering the D key from my keyboard and
ceremoniously burning it, a less radical solution is welcomed.
I had hoped to use global shortcut managers such as WinKey to simply
assign the combination Ctrl+D to another function, but it
only allows me to use key combinations with the Windows key.

Nope, it's hardcoded. Note that there is an additional prompt when you
actualy delete something so you must be making two slips then ;-)

I tested this out. There is indeed usually a prompt. However, there
isn't if you press Ctrl+D (delete) immediately after a save (Ctrl+S).
From this, I assume what is happening is that when I attempt to hit
Ctrl+S, I'm actually managing to hit that combination, but then my
finger slips rightwards to the D key immediately to the right of it.
It doesn't sound easy, but I manage it quite a lot!

Hopefully this can changed at some point so that you are _always_
prompted to delete.

Ah, but then it shows up in your Deleted Items folder so nothing is really
lost.
