I'm having problems using WinXP Pro, I've got a T1 line and every now and again I have to disable the RPC service. The consequence of this is that once disabled via Admin Tools I can't copy and paste

Any ideas? I can copy and paste when I'm not connected to the web, but as soon as I connect with the disabled service I am not able to copy and paste. Can I have both disabled RPC service and copy & paste functions

regards to al

Why are you disabling the RPC service in the first place?

The functions you are trying to use ex. the Context Menu in Windows require the RPC service to be running, without it the OS is seriously disabled

I don't understand why you would need to shut it down.
