Hello,

I do not want flash on my machine.
Every time I go to a site, ie asks if I want to install the plug in, I say
no.

I wanted to stop constant prompting this so I've disabled the downloading
of plugins (activex controls).
Now I get to a page that has flash (usually a banner ad) a pop-up warning
that my security settings do not allow downloading; then I have to press
"OK" to get ride of the box.

Q: Is there a way to disable this warning?, without re-enabling the download
of plug-ins?

The result I would like is that If I go to a page that contains flash
components, they just don't work and that's the end of it. No warnings, no
pop-up box's, just load what you can and be done with it.

Thanks

You can change the security to never download instead of
prompt. However, on all sites you will always get "activex
diasbled, you may not be able to blah blah blah" press ok.
This one cannot be stopped in IE afaik. If you cant stand
the ok (btw, if you hit enter or space, it hits ok for
you) you will have to switch browsers. You could try
webwasher, which strips ads off sites before you get them
(thus the activex control is not there). Its free for home
use. Finally, check out a programming forum on MACROMEDIA
FLASH to see just how much it can do. Its pretty scary how
powerful these plugins can be, and how much they can be
abused by developers.

That's what I thought!
Thanks for the feed back.

There should be a choice of flash/no flash. It used to be that way, such as
when you put the W3 logo on your site or something the indicates no flash,
most of it is garbage anyway, or ads or (like you say) some strange program.

Down with flash,
