Disable Windows CD Burner?

I read somewhere that if I intend to use a 3rd party CD burning application
(Roxio's Easy CD Creator) I should "be sure to disable Window's XP's built-in
recording capabilities, which can cause conflicts with third-party software.
How do I do this? And how do I "undo" it if I change my mind later?

open windows explorer. right click on your cdr/rw and select properties. go
to the recording tab.

I have Roxio Easy CD-Creator (ver. 6 now, but was 5) and Nero both
installed and have not disabled anything in Windows XP and I have no
problems.

However, I did not install the "packet writing" software for either burn
program, and I recommend to others that they not install it.

In My Computer, right click the drive, Properties, and on the Recording
page uncheck 'Enable Recording' and Apply
