Disable USB auto install

My problem is that my USB printer tries to install everytime I reboot the
computer. I want to leave this printer plugged in but I do not want the
device to be automatically detected.

Idears??

Then when the printer wants to install let it intstall and your probably
wont see the message again.
 
Problem is that I do not want it to install. I have VM ware connected to this
box and I want the VM ware to only connect to the printer. Everytime I reboot
the VMware session the HOST re-installs the printer while the VM is rebooting.
