Hi,

I work in a library and want to disable the shorts when
somone opens word, media player, photo editor. They get
links on the sides that say look in:

history
my docs
my network places
etc.

Is there a way to disable those, so users can access them?

Please help!

Use the policy editor in built in to WinXP. With this tool
you can disable, basically anything you want. Be carefull
not lock yourself out. -->Start-->Run - poledit.msc

Thanks

Actually, what you're suggesting is GPEDIT.MSC and only exists in XP Pro, not Home. Which is why I asked the poster what they were using.
