Hi,

How would I completely disable internet access on a WINXP SP2 machine
without removing it's IP settings?

Thanks

Marc

How does the machine access the Internet?

If it is via the LAN, then it depends on what kind of LAN.

If it's a small single-segment LAN with one router acting as an
Internet gateway, then you would not need to remove all the
IP settings, just remove the Default Gateway.
Local LAN IP connectivity would remain un-affected.

If it is a big LAN with multiple subnets connected by routers, then this
will break your LAN connectivity, and the best approach would be to block
the machine at the Internet gateway / firewall device.

Another approach might be to install a firewall program that can perform
outbound filtering on the machine, and put the LAN subnets in a permitted
zone and block access to all other IP addresses.
