Oh, since you didn't describe what you wanted to do or anything about
your setup, I couldn't really give you a specific answer. In XP Pro,
Start>Run and type (without quotes) "gpedit.msc". This will run the
Group Policy Editor. You can set very fine-grained permissions there.
For a start, look under the Administrative Templates. Be careful using
Group Policy Editor; it is completely possible to lock yourself out of
your own system.

Thanks for your time Malke. I've just open gpedit and there is really lots of
things to explore there. I think your anwer is directly related to the
internet bloking stuff (I also asked about bloking USB ports too-for what
I've receive an answer in other group). I'll spend time on exploring gpedit,
it really has many options...

Thanks again

Jose,

Were you able to find a solution to this? I've got to disable Internet
access on 2 out of 200 PC's. Can't seem to find a registry hack that
applies, or a GP. GP's seem to detailed. I did disable Internet access
through Control Panel/Add Remove Programs/Set Program Access and
Defaults/Custom. It allows you to disable access to Internet Explorer. It
didn't help me, though, because my user was smart enough to use Start/Run to
open a web page.

I've searched high and low on the web for an answer to this one......

Just tell them not use the Internet on that PC and threaten to fine them or
punish them in some way (presumably you have the authority to do that), then
install monitoring sw on your LAN, and when any internet, tcp/ip packets
start going to the prohibited PC you'll know about it and you can go and
catch the person in the act, beefing up fine revenue in the process.
