what is the easiest method of preventing clients from
using an internet browser in a terminal server session?

A simple way would be to remove the IE icons. They can
get around this but only if they know their way through
the system which many users do not know.

You can do this at the admin level.

You can set permissions on iexplore.exe so that users who are not
allowed to use IE can't start IE.

userconfig/windows/internet-explorer/connections/proxysettings set an
internal ip that does not exist.

in the GPO i sent you can enter URL that will *not* use the (dummy-)proxy
server. A professional solution for you is MS ISA-Server, I do not have a
special server for this purpose. this is why I am using IProtectYou from
www.softforyou.com for this, it is simple, cheap and doing the job for me.
