Hello,

We are running a Windows 2000 Terminal Server. I have it locked down so the
users can only run a few apps, one of them being Internet Explorer 6. I
can't figure out how to remove the help menu from the toolbar though. I have
tried to disable access to help.exe and helpctr.exe but that isnt working.
Is there another program I can deny access to that will prevent access to
the help menu items? Or is there a setting that will remove the help menu
all together?

Thanks,
JBailey

Do you have IE6 SP1?

However, in the Group Policy editor I didn't find a policy setting that
would remove the Help menu either. Apparently that is included in the IEAK
ADM files, but not the SYSTEM.ADM file included with Windows. You may need
a custom ADM file to address this through GPO.

Registry location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions
- NoHelpMenu (DWORD): Disables the Internet Explorer "Help" menu.

I tested this registry value and it did disable the Help menu, but did not
remove it from the menu bar.
