Disable Floppy? How?

I was told that I could disable the Floppy's seek through
BIOS, but I couldn't find anything there. Is there an
option in Windows XP to prevent the Floppy from always
checking whether there is a diskette in it every time I
reboot/Shutdown?

Thanks.

Boot Up Floppy Seek - DISABLE. If you enable this, your
system will take a few seconds to examine the floppy
drive in search of a disk, wasting your time.

That option isn't on my BIOS. I checked out the Boot
Floppy in the Boot section of the Bios already, it still
checks it. The only other Floppy option is to disable the
Floppy configurator.

Nope, I never used a diskette on the floppy driver at all. It just keeps
checking for a dsikette everytime I reboot or shutdown. :\

Is your anti-virus program checking the floppy drive? I know Norton does
this... you might want to have a look in the options of your anti-virus
program and see if that helps.

I'm using NOD32, and yes, it was scanning the floppy, but for some reason XP
is still checking on it every reboot/shutdown.. :\
