Disable damn html format forever?

Is there a way in Outlook 2000 (or any other version) to simply NEVER
have email appear in HTML format? I am so sick of receiving HTML mail
that I decided enough is enough. If there is any way, including using
some 3rd party add-on, please let me know. Otherwise I have decided I
will have to dump Outlook as my email client. I am so sick of it.

I don't know, but multiple posting won't change that.
 
Chilton Preview Pane will disable it in preview, Attachment Options can use
the Read As Plain if you are running CW mode. Not sure of other methods.

Chilton Preview Pane will disable it in preview, Attachment Options can use
the Read As Plain if you are running CW mode. Not sure of other methods.

What's Chilton Preview Pane, and what do you mean by "CW mode?"

I would really just like to set Outlook to never use HTML format,

Ok I remember Corp. Workgroup mode you mean. However, can I use my POP
account in that mode? I'm currently in Internet Mail only. If I change
to CW can I still just use my POP account?

But I still do not see how to disable HTML format mail. I don't want
any mail to be displayed as HTML format unless I specifically choose
to. Nor do I want to reply in HTML format if the original message was
in that format. These are all problematic and I cannot find a way to
change them.

If there's no way, please say so. I'll find a better email client.
